Steve Mickel
District Supervisor
Steve Mickel serves as the District Supervisor and is focused on the target of more and growing leaders together on mission. The supervisor will champion the recruitment, development and sending of leaders through our missiology and identity.
Steve Mickel’s life mission is to help people discover their God-given purpose and live it out in relationships with others. A longtime Foursquare leader, Steve graduated in 1994 from LIFE Bible College. He later returned and completed a master’s degree in strategic leadership. The following year he and his wife, Suzanne, planted Sisters Foursquare Church (Wellhouse Church, Inc.) in Sisters, Ore. After six years there, the Mickels went to the mission field in Croatia before returning to Oregon in 2007. Steve and Suzanne have been married for 30 years and have four sons: Chase, Hudson, Kincade, and Spencer. In 2016, Steve and Suzanne’s oldest son Chase died in a one-car accident. Steve’s book, Walking in the Dark, chronicles his journey of trusting God again after this tragedy. Steve loves spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying the outdoors.
David Eddy
Associate Supervisor
David Eddy serves as an Associate Supervisor with the primary responsibility of the target of more and growing leaders together on mission and works in collaboration, partnership and support of the supervisor.
David Eddy is an ordained Foursquare minister. He has worked in different pastoral capacities for Pasadena Foursquare Church in Pasadena, Calif., Gateway Chapel Foursquare and also Faith Center (La Grande Foursquare Church) in La Grande, Ore., where he served as senior pastor. He has previously served as divisional superintendent and on Foursquare’s board of directors. David and his wife, Sunshine, have two grown children.
Molly DuQue
Associate Supervisor
Molly DuQue serves as an Associate Supervisor with the primary responsibility of the target of more and growing leaders together on mission and works in collaboration, partnership and support of the supervisor.
Molly DuQue is an ordained Foursquare minister who is passionate about leadership development, collaborative teams and innovative expressions of faith. She most recently served as lead pastor of Mosaic Chapel, a nontraditional congregation of home churches (part of Billings Foursquare Church) in Bozeman, Mont., and previously as executive pastor of Eastside Foursquare in Bothell, Wash. Molly has served on the Foursquare cabinet, pastored youth, small groups and ministered in crisis care. Molly holds a business marketing degree from the University of Washington and a master’s degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Justin, have two daughters.
Liz Schwartzkopf
Admin Clerk
Liz Schwartzkopf provides clerical support and data entry in support of the district team’s administrative processes.
Liz is a licensed Foursquare minister whose experience comes mainly from internships and cohorts with Faith Center (Eureka Foursquare Church of Eureka, Calif.), Vintage Faith (Vintage Faith Culver City in Los Angeles) and Grace Church (Camas Foursquare Church) in Camas, Wash. At Grace Church she served as discipleship resident for a year. Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Life Pacific University. She has a heart for spiritual disciplines and soul care, and enjoys spending time with friends and exploring nature in the Pacific Northwest.
Kim Churm
Administrative Support
Kim Churm focuses on the implementation and exercise of administrative processes that maximize ministry, serves as the first impression of the district office and helps the district staff provide the best care possible for our district pastors and churches.
Kim is a licensed Foursquare minister. Prior to joining the district team, Kim and her husband, Max, spent time in Argentina in partnership with a hospitality ministry to backpackers and climbers. After the birth of their first child, they moved back to States and began working with Climbers for Christ. Kim served for several years as a family ministry pastor in Yakima, Wash. Their family’s journey through ministry has created a passion for discipleship within community. They are currently in Foursquare’s Multiply as they look to plant a Missional Church Community within their city. Kim and Max have 3 children.
Jacy Burnett
District Administrator
Jacy Burnett focuses on the implementation and exercise of administrative processes that simplify administration and maximize ministry for the district.
Jacy has served as district administrator for the Northwest District since 2009, and was district administrator for the North Pacific District for two years prior. Before joining the district team, he served Foursquare churches as a youth pastor, church administrator and senior pastor. He and his wife, Amber, have two sons.
April Nault
Communications + Events Coordinator
April Nault supports the district in partnership with the Communications Team by leading, developing and facilitating all district communications as well as planning and managing events of varying sizes and purposes.
April has grown up in The Foursquare Church her whole life. Experiencing churches in small to large contexts. She is passionate about communicating and celebrating what Jesus is doing through the local church. Before joining the district team, she served Foursquare churches through administrative roles, worship, communications, and as a children’s ministry director. April continues to serve at Hub City Church in Burlington, WA where her husband Sean is Lead Pastor and an Area Pastor for the Northwest District. April and her husband have been married for seventeen years and have three children.
Kaj Martin
District Mission Mobilizer
Kaj Martin is responsible to serve as a bridge between local churches, districts, shared mission, and global mission to the nations near and far, focusing on recruitment, mobilization and collaboration.
Kaj (pronounced “k-eye”) serves as an advocate for the global Foursquare church, missionaries and the unreached. His role as district mission mobilizer serves the Northwest District’s churches as a bridge to the field by training missionaries and equipping local churches to fulfill the Great Commission. Kaj and his wife, Janell, have pastored churches in Tacoma, Seattle and Aberdeen, Wash. Kaj and Janell currently serve as lead pastors of Grays Harbor Foursquare in Aberdeen, WA. The Martins have three children.
Monique Handall
Multiethnic Ministry Coordinator
Monique Handall is responsible for the identification, recruitment and development of the immigrant and non-majority culture churches and leaders within a district’s geography.
Monique and her husband, Yaseer, have served as FMI missions workers to North Native American tribes since 2010. The Handalls have also been serving the Hispanic community of San Bernadino, Calif., as pastors of a Spanish-speaking congregation for nine years. Monique worked as a high school teacher in an at-risk, diverse community for 18 years as well. Monique and Yaseer are the parents to two sons and one foster daughter.
Reed Sowell
NextGen Coordinator
Reed Sowell is responsible for supporting the District Supervisor in partnership with the National Nextgen Coordinator, in the overall resourcing and leadership of this district’s local church NextGen ministries.
In his role as NextGen Coordinator for the Northwest District, Reed contends for, champions, and celebrates NextGen leaders and their ministries. An ordained Foursquare minister, Reed is passionate about seeing young people become devoted followers of Jesus. Reed and his wife, Victoria live in Gig Harbor, Wash., with their two daughters.
